San Diego 2015
Something else we did within the last month was to take our Spring Break in San Diego. We had lots of fun and of course the trip was too short. All the more enjoyable when we go back!
We attended a baptism in the morning before we left town, so we arrived just in time to get unloaded and watch the sun set. There's nothing quite so wonderful in all the world as sitting at the shore of the sea, breathing in the fresh air with the cool breeze against your skin watching the sun go down the the knowledge that, at the moment, all is well with the world, your family is with you and God is in control!
Sea World was fun. It wasn't what I remembered as a child...but then when I went as a child, I left my camera in the bathroom and someone picked it up and I never saw it again and that's about all I remember of the first Sea World experience. This time, I didn't lose my camera :)
Spending a morning in the water was lots of fun! I could have stayed there all day. Paddle surfing was the most loved, I'm fairly certain. I think Abby is willing to invest and transport a board and paddle every time we get close to water!
Then there was the USS Midway. Eric's favorite place in San Diego. We didn't get as much time there, but what time we did spend was well executed. After a nice dinner in Old Town, we hit the road for home.
I can't wait to go back...so many more things I want to see and do!
It's been a year...
I can't hardly believe how long it's been since I've posted anything. Time just seems to be passing at the speed of a train.
I used to take my Sunday evenings and blog, but the I got addicted to Family History, and that has really taken over my Sundays...
But no more! I will strive to be better at staying on top of my blog posting...I hope :)
So to begin, I'm going to go easy on myself. Instead of trying to go back and fill in everything we've done over the last year, I'm just going to start with the last month.
I found this fun homeschool blog and every week anyone can submit sketches and they'll be posed every Tuesday
As you can see, I'm having more fun with this than my kids are! It's been good for all of us to have a reason to sit down and sketch.

A day at the Fire Dept
I don't know if I've ever said this before, I love homeschooling! I love having the opportunity to involving my kids in all sorts of experiences.
Like roll playing a school shooting at the local Fire Department...
First, we headed to Paul Mitchell The School to have our make-up done
Then we went over to the Fire Dept and got a tour before the simulation began...
Everyone had a great time. What a great, and yet slightly unnerving, experience. How sad it is that we live in a day in age when our firemen and police officers are being trained in such things as mass school shootings. But we sure were glad we could help.
