Visiting Dad in Virginia Day Two

This place is amazing. Green and glorious everywhere you look. There is such a unique energy here.

On the second day we walked the National Mall. Saw all the Monuments, wore our feet to the bone. It was great!

Visiting Dad in Virginia Day One

At the end of September Eric and I flew out to Alexandria to visit my dad.

He Moved out there a few years back and has grown t love the area, so we took advantage of the opportunity.

Leaving the kids at home to fend for themselves, we hoped on a plane, flying first class baby!

We took a red-eye flight....bad idea. So we drove to the Washington DC temple and slept in the car for 2 hours. Toured the Visitors Center and Isaw this pretty spider web in the shrubs.

We went to the George Washington Masonic Lodge in Alexandria. A very interesting place to visit.

After checking into a great hotel, we grabbed some lunch. I love Mediterranean food!

Then we finished up the evening by walking the streets of Old Town Alexandria, sitting at the dock on the Potomac River just people watching.

Abraham the Archer

What a gallant young man abides in my home.

He's cute, too!

I think I need one of those for myself.

Who's behind the mask?

Hanging with Morgan at Urban Renewal.

My kids are some of my very best friends!

Tender boys

This was passed on to me by Jonelle Hughes. I thought it was a good reminder on how we should treat the men and boys in our lives. It seems to me that men can be stronger if we, as females, are sweeter and kinder and more gentle.

Happy Birthday Emma

Emma is now 10! A whole decade old. I remember that birthday well. So to celebrate, we had lots of partying going on. First she went to lunch with her twin a week before the big day, shopping and eating. Then on the big day, she spent the day with her twin again, shopping and eating some more! Then she opened presents and had dessert!

THEN, she had a birthday party with friends a week later.
